Practica Makes Perfect
Nov 02, 2017
Weekly Argentine Tango practice sessions for all levels.
Weekly practicas continue on Thursday evenings 8-10pm at the Guanaquita restaurant.
Music by various DJs. Price is $10pp.
Keep in touch for news about new lessons in the new year.
“I’ve never danced Tango before. Shouldn’t I take lessons first?”
You’re welcome to drop by to take a look.
If you want to try, experienced dancers from the community can give you the first few steps and techniques from 8-9pm.
We’re also a good resource to locate resident and travelling teachers in Southwestern Ontario.
It’s true what they say, Tango “takes five minutes to learn, and a lifetime to perfect.”
What should I expect?
Wear light clothing for easy movement.
Shoes: leather or suede soles are ideal, heels or flats are okay.
Practica is an informal Tango dance, with no structured lesson but lots of help from fellow dancers.
No previous experience is necessary, no partner necessary (typically, everyone dances with everyone else.)
Introduce yourself to other dancers. If you’re a new dancer, mention your level of expertise.
Expect dancing to be stop-and-go, with lots of chances to practice steps over again.
